Freedom offers two types of Freedom Telephone packages with the internet subscription. You can choose from:

Bellen Basis

If you choose 'Bellen Basis', you pay for each second of your calls.

  • Calling via the internet (VoIP);
  • Choose a regional telephone number or an 085 telephone number;
  • You can keep your own number at no cost or choose a new telephone number;
  • Voicemail to email;
  • Freedom customers call other Freedom customers for free;
  • You pay your monthly subscription fee of €5 in advance;
  • You pay your call costs per second afterward;
  • Number portability (bringing your own number) is free;
  • No connection fees.

Bellen Vrij NL

If you choose 'Bellen Vrij NL', you can call fixed and mobile numbers throughout the Netherlands for a fixed price of €15 per month.

  • Calling via the internet (VoIP);
  • Choose a regional telephone number or an 085 telephone number;
  • You can keep your own number at no cost or choose a new telephone number;
  • Voicemail to email;
  • You pay your monthly subscription and call costs of €15 in advance;
  • Number portability (bringing your own number) is free;
  • No connection fees;
  • You pay per second for service numbers and numbers outside the Netherlands. These costs are paid afterward.



Currently, at Freedom, you can request or port a maximum of 1 number. In the future, we aim to make multiple phone numbers per subscription possible.

Do you want to change your subscription?

Do you already have a Freedom Basis Bellen subscription but want to switch to a Freedom Bellen Vrij NL subscription? Or do you currently have only internet (and television) and wish to add calling to your subscription? You can do that! Your subscription will be changed from the first of the following month. Please send an email to helpdesk@freedomnet.nl and include the following details:

  1. Postal code and house number.
  2. Your customer number (Fxxxxxxx).
  3. The primary account, which is your @freedom.nl email address or the contact email address we have on file. If you don't have a Telephone subscription with us yet, we would also like to receive the following information:
  • I want: Freedom Bellen Basis / Freedom Bellen Vrij NL.
  • I want to keep my current phone number: Yes + phone number / No, I want a new regional number / No, I want a new national 085 number.

Terms and Conditions

When you apply for Freedom Bellen Basis or Freedom Bellen Vrij NL, you enter into a monthly contract. You pay for your subscription through automatic debit. You start paying your subscription from the first of the month, and you pay call costs (Bellen Basis) or additional call costs (Bellen Vrij NL) in arrears. Freedom Telephone can only be purchased if you also have an internet subscription with Freedom. The contract and automatic debit continue until you cancel the service. If you purchase Freedom Telephone separately on top of your internet subscription, you don't have a 14-day cooling-off period because you can use the service immediately and cancel it on a monthly basis.
